How Computing Reflects God's Nature: An Exploration
Abstract
This paper explores the intersection between computing technology and theological conceptions of God's nature, proposing that the principles underlying modern computing systems offer profound insights into divine attributes. By examining key aspects of computing—such as information processing, complexity, and system organization—through the lens of classical theological views, we demonstrate that these systems serve as metaphors and models for understanding God's omniscience, omnipresence, creativity, and order. The paper draws upon ideas from Christian theology, computer science, and philosophy, ultimately suggesting that the study of computing can not only advance technological progress but also deepen our appreciation of divine wisdom and creation.
