    Abstract
In spite of the numerous efforts to improve the quality of healthcare in resource constrained areas, not much has been done to ensure that the electronic health records of the patient are secure from modification, unauthorized access among other vices that hinder the successful implementation of EHR systems. The purpose of this research was to investigate the feasibility of secure EHR in developing countries. With the main objective - to enhance the sharing of Electronic Health Records in low developing countries within a secure environment. In achieving this, the objective was broken-down into four sub tasks. (1) To study the feasibility of security in Electronic Health Records in resource constrained areas. (2) To design a secure system for sharing Electronic Health Records. (3) Implementing the designed system that will enable patients and doctors to communicate securely. (4) Testing and validation of the Implemented system.
